GW VERDICT Elie boasts many very good holes, in a quaint seaside setting. There is enoughadventure and ‘quirk’ to keep the purist happy while those that seek aesthetics will also becharmed by a links that offers entertainment but also more challenge than you expect.
Why it is a high climber Elie has been in every Scottish Top 100, but this position – climbing 31 places (only Peterhead moved up more) – is comfortably its highest slot. This panel simply loved adistinctive, fun links that has a setting to match.
What we at Elie think We can only agree with the panel at Golf World!! One of the great charms of the course layout is its start within the village itself moving out to a stretch of holes running along the Firth of Forth with lovely views over the sea to Muirfield and North Berwick. But it is not just the course that should tempt visitors to a game at Elie. With outstanding service from the clubhouse staff, we are equally renowned for our hospitality off the course.
